Saw your ad in Diesel Power mag. Great to be on board and I hope to learn more about my new truck here.:)

For instance, my owner's manual does not say what axle ratio I have. Where can I find it on the truck? Is it stamped on the diff cover?

    Welcome!
Since you just bought your 06, it should be on your window sticker, stock is 3:73 I think and 4:10 was an option.

It was sold used and the dealer chooses not to put those stickers on the windshields of its used trucks. This truck gets 23+mpg@65mph so I'm fairly sure it has the 3.73 gears. I don't believe the 4.10 will achieve those numbers. My other 3500 was an SRW, had the automatic and it got 21-22mpg@65mph.

Can the Duramax and the Powerstroke equal those numbers? I ask because I truly don't know. My only Ford diesel was an '87 with the 6.9 and 4speed manual and I don't remember the mileage. I've never owned a GM vehicle of any kind.

Thank you all for the welcome! waytogo

    Welcome to Towrig!

Your truck has 3.73 gears. 4.10's are not available with the G56 6 speed as the G56 suffers in the OD gearing department, and would be like having no OD at all.
