Amsoil BMK11 Mounted to the front Body mount, nice and hidden. Plumed off the oil filter mount and returning through a nice billet aluminum cap!

looks good, but how hard is it to get to the filter? how offten do oil changes last anyway? i am not able to do changes where i live right now, and that is part of the reason for wanting the bypass setup. i guess i should search on here... lol

ok, is the purpose of these to simply extend the oil life/pump etc.? I need a low down.

The bypass filter is a much more effective filter. Its called a bypass because most of the the high volume oil bypasses the filter and carries about normally. A Cummins flows about 15-20 gallons per minute of oil at operating speed. The bypass filter is regulated down to 1 gal per minute. This allows you to run the more effective filter which will remove more and smaller particles without restricting the oil flow to the motor. This also allows you to extend the life of high quality oils.

With Amsoil in the motor and a full flow Amsoil filter, oil changes are every 15K miles. With the addition of the bypass filter, those can be extended infinitely with Oil Analysis and 15K mile filter changes. About 1k miles before you are due for a filter change, take a sample, send it in and wait for a reply. When the report comes back and tells you the oil is in good shape for continued use, change your filters, add 2-3 quarts of oil to the crank case, and drive another 15k miles and enjoy.

The FS2500 is about double the cost of the Amsoil unit. Anyone that would like a price, post up and I'll PM you. Those of you that already asked, PMs on the way!waytogo

Yes. Amsoil is just a higher quality fluid, designed for extended use. They even work well with regular organic oils. Just the oil life is not as lengthy as with quality synthetics. The Bypass filter simples filters the oil much better than the standard Full Flow filter.

I am looking to get the fs2500, just looking for prices. also if the bypass filters hook into the stock filter, where do you plumb if you have twin turbos and already piped in there?
