My 2 year plan is to get rig of all payments I have now so I can buy house/ shop in a year or 2. Gonna sell the dodge eventaully as soon as I get this truck together. Sold my gooseneck last night and bought this 1988 Chevy crew cab dually. Specs are a very fresh well built TBI 454, SM465, NP205, D60, D70, 4.10s. Cruise, air, etc just no power windows/lock but oh well. Think I scored a rolled 91 burban for front clip and newer grill setup too and just need to find a decent drivers side door and paint.
Hmm, did I see it for sale for $250 in the window? Not a bad deal, but it's a bummer it's not a Silverado. It appears to be a Scottsdale or what not? As much as I love these GM crew cabs, I'd have a hard time giving up my Dodge and only having my crew. The GM crews pull great, are solid, and have a super tough drivetrain.....but the 454 falls very short of the 5.9's.... Looks like you have a good plan though, and your body damage looks simple to fix. Since there are pictures of old iron GM crews....I'll be a pic whore..
I've been having a lot of trouble finding insurance. These companies are balking at my age(63). Just got off the phone with my Farmer's agent and they'll insure the truck and trailer but not the cargo WTF??? I put in a quote request to JD Tanner last night so I'll see what they tell me. I quit my other job to do this so if I can't find insurance I'll have to sell the truck because I won't be able to make the payments.
Ok it's all good got the insurance. Great price too. waytogo Now I just need to tie up the loose ends and I'm good to go!imp:
