I have recently purchased a '04 3500 CTD with the 48RE and 3:73 rears. I have a 22' equipment trailer that I use for my fencing bussiness. Most times I'm not loaded very heavy, maybe 2-4000 lb. If I'm fully loaded with my skidloader and a load of posts, I'm pushing 12-14000.

My question is how to use tow/haul. If I'm not loaded heavy, should I still not run in o/drive or should I not pull anything that way? Seems to me that not hitting o/drive would hurt your fuel economy.

I used to work for a company where I drove a d/max with the allison. There you just stuck it in tow/haul and if it went into overdrive, so what.
I love the cummins and the truck in general but I miss the allison.

    Thanks in advance!!
