Howdy there fellow Canuck!.....I'm about 1 1/2 hours from Ajax....

If the turbo is whistling louder than normal, I would look for a torn or loose intercooler boot or an intercooler leak. Make sure the air box is in place and sealing the filter properly. Check to make sure the waste gate actuator line form the compressor housing to the actuator is intact. Those are the most common problems. Is there a boost gauge on the truck?

Mine has a silencer ring in the turbo that I removed. In conjuctiojn with that, a BHAF and straight pipe you can really hear loud turbo whistle and when you back out it sounds like relief.

Sounds like turbo bark? If the silencer ring is missing I would recommend replacing it, some engineer took his time designing that turbo, we actually lost a few hp on the dyno with it out.

I can't see how it could be a MIA silencer ring if the turbo started to get louder out of the blue..... if the turbo remained intouched from the time the turbo was quiet to the time it got loud, then I think a boost leak has developed.
