Got a nasty surprise, my brake and ABS dash light came on. Took it to the local dealer and determined that the ABS control module needed to be replaced. $650 for the part. Has anyone else had this problem on the 04.5 2500 or is this just a random hit. Also has me rethinking the wisdow of not having the extended warranty. This rig only has 12k on it, so I can still pick up the factory extended warranty. I would like to hear from owners of this year modle that have put some miles on them and what kinds of repairs they have experienced. Thanks for any information you can give me.

I would take it to another dealer and get a second opinion. $650:doah:, I'd learn to pump the brakes again.

Did u check the inside of the wheels to make sure they are clean? I have had mine come on like three times while playing in snow or mud but each time there was packed snow or mud up in the wheels. just turned the truck off and it cleared it self.

Wheels are totally clean. Rig has been turned on and off several times, pulled the breaker to stop the control motor from running all the time. I'me afraid this is the real thing. when the dealer checked it, showed a code 96 and 67 (pump circuit open). Thanks for the input. If only it was something that simple.
