So I am just about ready to install the newly rebuilt nv4500 in my 98. In case you're wondering I reved her up dumped the clutch and bang! There goes the mainshaft, input shaft, 1st, 5th and reverse gears, umm there was some other stuff but you get the idea lol. At least I have the 5th gear fix added now :D ha ha.

Anyways, I will be doing a couple of mods once it's driving again. The list is for now... cold air intake, dual stacks, fuel plate grind, gsk, dual fuel tanks. All of this will be done all at once.

These will be the first of many mods but they will also be the only mods done for about a year or so while I finish my buggy.

My first question is who makes the best dry flow cold air intake? I don't want the kind you need to oil.

Second question is with these mods what size downpipe should I use? I want to have 5 or 6" stacks. Does it matter what size downpipe I use?

Third question which plate grind should I use keeping in mind I will go big in the power department later but the rest of the mods will be at least a year away.

Fourth question 3 or 4k spring kit? I know I need to upgrade the springs if I do a 4k swap but which do you guys recommend and why?

I'd spend the time and do a search normally but I'm working 12hour days 7 days a week right now so computer time is limited right now. Besides you guys never get tired of this **** right lol :pimp:

Anyways thanks for the help up front!

oh and one other thing, will my clutch hate me with just these mods or am I still on the safe side?

And I forgot to add I will be getting gauges as well. :D Does anybody make any nice dash mounted ones instead of the a pillar versions? I find them kind of annoying when I drive my buddies 05. Especially at night..

    Welcome!

    Lots of questions. . . .

Ok, Yes your clutch will hate you alot. Should do one while you have the transmission out. South Bend is your best bet. How big on power do you plan to go? More than 500?

For the Governer Springs, go 4k. You will have to have valve springs to rev over about 3400-3600 safely. Good idea to do them.

Dry flow intake, I would say an Icebox, with an Amsoil Nano filter. Nice units, clean install, and reusable filter.

Stacks! Go with a turbo back kit like the one we offer from Grand Rock. This will give you 4" turbo back into a 5" y pipe, then into the stacks of your choice.

Tires - Toyo builds a great tire. They have both an MT and AT

    Thanks for the info.

Eventually the truck will see into the 5-600hp range but it will be a while before it goes that far. Unfortunately I only have enough funds for one project at a time :D so after these mods the rest will have to wait a while.
