Hi everyone. Just found the web site link on one of my RV sites and thought I'd join in. I have been trailering for 38 years, mostly pop-up campers and travel trailers. We will be fulltime RV'ing starting summer of 2009 so I have about 18 months to buy a 5th wheel trailer and a tow rig. Unsure whether to get a diesel or big gasser. I am well aware of the advantages of a diesel but I'll have to see where prices are going (up obviously) for the vehicle and fuel costs. I hope to learn a lot in this forum to help me decide. thanks for letting me join.

    Welcome, Ron.

From what I have seen, a Diesel will be a better investment. Especially if you are going to be doing it full time. We have service vehicles at work that haul 10-12K weekly. The gas rigs we had needed a lot more service once they got past the 50K mile mark.

Welcome to TowRig! Go diesel, that's my advice. I'll never go back to a gasser in a full size truck.
