You can move the stock plate forward and it won't hurt a thing. Cept maybe the tires. rotfl

It will give it more fuel without spending the $$ on a fuel plate right away. Before you move it, mark the original location. If you don't like it, move it back or buy a fuel plate.

I don't think it will be too hard for you to hit the 1000 deg.; especially if you've got a stock exhaust..... depending on how far you moved the plate. A bigger exhaust will help keep those egt's down.

That depends on your foot. I get the same mpg's (if not better) with my #5 plate slid forward from the stock position AND 215hp injectors as I did with the engine stock. I play with the throttle occasionally.:D

Most of the time mpg goes up a smidge when you slide the plate, or put in a new one. That's if (for some reason) you drive the same as you did when it was stock. It's kinda hard to explain, but basically you use less fuel at a lower rpm to do the same amount of work. You got gov springs, big injectors, a turbo or 2, or any big things on your list?:stir:

na none of those on my lists but i do have a converter i bought under the tree lol and a shift kit, but yes i understand wut you mean now at lower rpm and take off i'm actually in the throttle less than before and my mileage has stayed the same and gone up just a bit. but thinking of maybe waiting 1-2 yrs and then pulling the motor and freshening it and doing a camshaft and ported head and so on. have a good x-mas
