I have a 28 ft travel trailer, and occasionally I need to pull my Rhino behind it on a 5' x 14' trailer. My question is, is this legal in Mississippi and surrounding states? I have checked my DMV website, with no luck yet.

    Thanks

I don't know of any state that allows bumper to bumper trailer towing. Now If you have a 5th wheel camper, usually thats ok. Theres a link somewhere that shows the laws for the US, see if I can find it.

Bumper to bumper is illegal but 5th to bumper isnt.

check with your state DPS/DOT officer/weights trained state trooper for their input. In OK some time back a bumper to bumper was illegal but now its legal according to the OHP troop near me.

2 bumper humpers in a row is allowed in Colorado and Nebraska. I pulled this setup from Lake McConahey NE to Castle Rock, CO. It was about 250mi and I only went 50-55mph. Any faster and the 2nd trailer would sway like crazy. I sure was glad I ran the Electric brake wire to the back of the boat trailer. Interestingly enough I averaged @11.5-12mpg going up there with just the boat at 80mph in OD and the same mileage coming home with both at 55mph in 3rd.

Thats second trailer sounds like when my buddy decide to haul a load of scrap with his stock Cherokee on 31's and use a four wheeler trailer. Over 45 it would sway like a beast...lol

I have a friend that works at the Port of Entry near Limon. According to her when this questions was raised a few years ago, this is not leagl, but seems to be "allowed" by some. I was told the middle trailer must be a gooesneck/5th wheelfor it to meet CO laws.

However, the laws may have changed in the last few years...

All I know is I see people doing it all the time, my buddy towed 2 bumper humpers to Utah and back and I had at least 2 state troopers pass me on the way home so either way I guess it is allowedwaytogo
