My father's delivery/work truck is in the market for a programmer/ module of some sort in an effort to increase fuel mileage. Extra power is nice, but this truck is all about the bottom line. The less fuel it takes to deliver the machine, the more money Dad gets to keep. It already has an autometer 2 gauge a-pillar pod with boost and pyro. Fuel mileage and avoiding excessive EGT's are paramount (my brother does much of the driving and has damaged a turbo and exhaust manifold before the gauge install :doah:-on a bone stock truck). Staying towards the cheaper end of the market if it isn't all junk.

Currently considering the Edge Mileage Max

Anyone had any experience with it, does it live up to it's claims?

Also looked at the Banks Bullet (though it doesn't claim any mileage increases and may be redundant since we already have gauges)

Certainly willing to consider other options if you have suggestions.

Thanks for any help in advance, I've been at CK5 for a while, but I'm a noob here.

    Truck specs:
2005 Dodge Crew Cab 3500 Dually ~120K miles
    5.9 Cummins/ 6spd manual
Swapped on Flat bed, pulls a 40ft flatbed gooseneck

well try doing a intake and exaust and a light programer any of the major brands are good .
the power puck will give you 90 hp and 180fpt that should help with mildge.and it only cost like 160.00

Both Edge and Quad make mileage minded boxes now. Seems the guys prefer the Quad Mileage Max though.

You may want to consider a box that will ad more power down the road. Most are updateable, so you can have your mileage programs and additional power if/ when you want it.

And as suggested, free flowing intake and exhaust will also help with efficiency and EGTs.

When I first purchased my truck, it was bone stock and got 17.5 mpg's.

Now, with all the upgrades listed below, i regularly average 18.5-19 and get up to 23+ on the highway.

From what I understand, any modification that makes your motor run more efficiently will help your mileage; as it will take less fuel to do the same amount of work.

Free up the airflow (intake & exhaust) and get an edge juice / attitude and keep it on the low setting and you should see some improvement.

Are you guys figuring MPG's by the overhead of on paper? I am basically looking at the same thing, except my truck is an 03 with a 6 speed 2wd.
