So im building my next truck, right now i have a Cummins 6BT 12v what im looking for is a good 6 speed manual transmission. I need the towing power but need highway use also (70+ mph)
I'm Actually putting it in a chevy want this to be an original truck basically its going to be used to tow my race car with a 5th wheel trailer. One thing i do want is to make it 4 wheel drive with a manual shift transfer case. what would be a good one for attaching to the NV5600? If possible one that would allow me to do about 55 in 4 high towing.
What year Chevy is this? Or, more importantly will it be a passenger or driver side front differential?
the frame is going to be 88-98 and as far as passanger or driver side im not sure yet im custom building this from the ground up the only reason imm choosing these years of chevy because i can get all the interior parts very easily. As far as front and rear ends I am open to suggestions.
Sorry dude but this forum is definitely not as active as it used to be. i would put in the NV5600 the first guy suggested. it is strong and very reliable and should just about bolt up to your motor.
What im still wondering about is what would be a good front and rear end to put in the truck that would bolt right up to the chevy frame
Im thinking try for dana 60's or something along those lines. im just shooting in the dark dont really know to much about it.
Run of the mill Corporate 14bolt rear, and a Dana 60 in the front. The Ford and 94+ Dodge 60's are all driver side drop. The Dodge 60 will be set up for coils and 4 link, and the Ford 60 for leaf springs. You'll have to decide what would be easiest to adapt to your vehicle.
