Lately my 03 has become harder and harder to start to now I'm at the point of almost using either to crank it. When its cold it won't start without it. Even if I plug it in at night its still hard to crank in the morning. It will idle real rough when cold as well and smooth out when it get warm. Any thoughts or help?
The grid heater has always been kinda weak. Even before this when it got down into the low 40's or into the 30's I had to plug the truck in or it was very hard to crank. But I don't believe thats it because it still takes a long time to crank even when its hot. I'm gonna change the fuel filter and see if it helps.
It sounds like a bad ignition switch. Try checking for the power at the black/white wire at the starter connector and see if there is power there with the key in the start position.
