I did, and it was LOUD. I put them back on right quick. But then again i dont have a turbo to help quiet it up.....................

I know a few guys who pulled thiers, none are obnoxiously loud, and they all saw a drop in thier EGT's.

I've replaced the exhausts of my diesel rigs with with 5" pieces of straight pipe and saw huge EGT reductions, around 150-200 degrees. Obviously noise went up, but nothing too annoying. All the parts came from the Mack dealer and only cost me about 150 bucks.

Did you notice any performance gains?

Sure did, the engine revved up alot faster, and seemed to run smoother in the high RPMs. I did also cut the cat off of my PSD when I did the exhaust mods, so Im sure that this contributed to to some of the gain as well.

I took mine off, and the EGT's dropped, and the turbo seems to spool quicker then before (especially here at 5,000 feet). Overall power seems to be the same, and the little GM-8 torbo makes for a great muffler.

If the turbo spools up quicker, wouldn't you notice a little better acceleration?

Yes, but no big differences. It mainly makes the truck sound cool and give a big drop in EGT's.

I bought my 01.5 with the muffler delete option ( ;) ) - it is not loud to me inside with the windows up but roll them down on a nice day and forget listening to the stereo! No idea if it added power but it will lower EGT's. I may put a straight through muffler on it when I go up to a 4" system to keep it less obnoxious under power. Daughter can hear me coming from two blocks away when I pick her up from soccer practice. Does sound badass..........

Straight piped and chased the cat from my 12v's exhaust. Just replaced it all with the stock 3" tube. Everything that has been said about the turbo spooling faster etc has been true in my case as well.
