We know about the power increases with some of the boxes like Edge Juice, TST etc., they also claim MPG will go up, anyone have any numbers that will back that up?
Hmmm, it *might* go up, if I could keep my foot light on the accelerator and the silly grin off my face... But that would be just a guess since it's never happened... I'm usually pulling away from the rest of the traffic at a stop light, even when fully loaded! imp:
I was getting 17-18 mpg stock. With the juice/attitude on level 3 and a/c blasting I get 20 around town no matter how I drive it. Level 5... now thats a different story
is that 20mpg on your overhead? the box's make your overhead read incorect, so hand calc figures are accurate only. i would get a box, but i dont need it, and i have a problem with tires staying treaded and on the truck as it is. Grant
Well everybody can get pi$$ed at me/this if they want to but here is my opinion. The only thing more exagerated than MPG on these sites is Pen$s size when drunk in a bar. I call BS on all fullsize trucks running 75+ MPH getting anything over 17 to 18 mpg. I know it depends on roads, elevation etc. but I just don't belive it. Just my .02 I have the Tuner in my truck and I don't think my milage went up but I also don't think it went down either. I get a consistant 16.5 to 17 mpg in my normal commute and driving. I can only hand calculate due to the fact that the tuner messes with the onboard MPG readout. I like to watch the black smoke come out of the tail pipe.
I would agree to a certain point but also (with at least the Dodges anyway, never cared about the PSD's and Dmaxs) these trucks vary suprisingly from truck to truck. Example... THere are three Dodge Cummins 2nd gens in my family. My dad's 2002 Ram Cummins H.O. 6spd dually gets a whopping 14.5 in town and 17 on the highway. My 2001 Cummins gets 19.4 at 72mph. MUCH less if I go much faster. About 15.8 to 16 in town. My grandpa's lower output 1999 2wd 2500 Cummins gets 25mpg at 65-70mph. I've read on Dieselram.com and most people are getting between 15 and 25mpg depending on the truck, big difference really when they are all nearly the same trucks (2nd gens).
