OK here's my problem...I've got this 98 Ram 2500 Cummins Diesel Auto 4x4 Quad cab SLT (power everything) 90,000 miles. 4.10 Posi rear Detroit front. Brand new 295/75/16 Ds. Would be worth 13-15k in good shape.

I can't afford it anymore (wife n baby) so I think I'm going to try to sell it. Problem is it has major exterior cosmetic damage from fourwheeling/work. I think the only straight body panel is the hood The bed is totally beat, inside and out, so the cheapest thing to do would be replace it. I was planning on putting a flatbed on it (sell to contractor/farmer) and get cab bodywork done (or do myself, but I really don't have time/know-how). I have machine/welding shop and materials for cheap (old leftovers out in the yard) But temps are triple digits here and I'm tired/lazy I haven't had much luck finding a good stock bed for it, so I was planning on building the flatbed while wifey is out of town this week. I also have to go thru the front axle (diff, CAD). The front bumper is dented (maybe fixable) and is missing the plastic trim, and the front fenderliners are gone (go go with the plastic bumper trim). Rear bumper trashed. Needs aligned and maybe some steering parts. Interior needs detailed, but is in good shape except for the steering wheel cover - the fake leather wore out so I took it off, and it's rubber underneath. Needs windshield. Antenna is missing...

Anyone have any ideas? Body shop guys know how much I'm looking at for the cab body repair work? I'll sell as-is it's in pretty good mechanical shape, but it's so ugly no one wants it. Anyone know what it might be worth as-is? Can I post on Ebay and see what I get? Can I retract the sale if I don't get squat? Thanks for any input. BTW I'm in SoCal if anyone knows where to find a stock bed.

MAN!!! I'd sure like to have that as a trail rig...
But if you had to sell that I'd put on some aftermarket oem fenders and front bumper, get the center caps for the rims off ebay, lose the rear bumper if you can (they dont care in florida), ditch the bed for a flat bed you could make, dont worry about the plastic inner fender liners, and run it through maaco for a $400-700 paint job...probably $1000 total for the body parts and paint together, then get it detailed...I do so much of this kind of stuff at the car lot and it improves the value so much...

Here is a fender for $130
    Painted bumper for $90
    dodge body parts
I never used this company buy it the first I could find...

I'm having a hard time coming up with and as-is price...offers? I'd just deduct the required work from the blue book. But I'm not really sure What it would cost. Say maybe 10k as is? 8k?

I saw your thread on PS, and wanted to see the pics.
It does not look all that bad, you just need to find the right buyer. Read intrest AND cash. That truck could be rehabed for a sweet tow rig, or cut to a killer buggy, or a monster mudder / trail rig.
I hate to say it, but if I had the cash, I would go as high 8,500, cash.

Interior is nice. Power everything, etc. I think the little tab on one of the passenger vents is broken, and the steering wheel leather wore off - I prefer the rubber underneath anyway.

Hm, no thanx, I really need to just have less vehicles waytogo

PS more pix of the truck in the dmbyrum album in my sig.

that is a rare truck, not many 12v QC out there. There might be an easy sell to the right person that knows what he is getting, but for the regular market you should make the repairs. Quick and cheap will make you a lot.

It's been to texas and back several times. I drive it thru mntns 2hrs each way to SD regularly. No problems. Only has 90 thou = ugly, not worn out. I got family in Sac, might come visit, wanna take wifey to Pismo for our late honeymoon. $ is the problem, but if I sold the truck...DWitcher might buy some tires from my bro, and he's up there too.
