yeah that pretty much demonstrates the pulling power of a inline motor.

Now Im all for the Cummins motor, especially in a Ford.......but this video doesnt prove much. In the first pull, the Ford was in 2wd, and the Dodge was in 4wd. In the second pull, the spring wrap of the Ford is what lost it for them. Sure power plays a factor in pulls, but in a back to back situation like that, whoever has the most weight AND traction is gonna win every time, not the one with the most power. Nonetheless, it was good to see a Cummins win waytogo

Weight and traction is very important but don't you think that a crew cab ford would out weight a regular cab dodge. Just a thought!

Weight has something to do with it, but more importantly is traction, and driver skill has a lot to do with it as well. You have to be able to keep the truck hooked up, if you break traction once in a situation like that, you're done for. A lot of the 4x4's you guys have, like Shaggy's '78 1/2 ton, would destroy much heavier and more powerful trucks just from traction and gearing.

I believe you are right, that the Ford probably weighs more, unfortunately the traction issue wasnt met with the Ford. If you see how much it hops, and dances around, thats why the Ford lost. The ass comes off the ground every foot, that loss of traction lets the Dodge get another few feet on the Ford. Fords seem to be notorious for spring wrap problems, and that is what killed the deal for the Ford.

The idea of lots of weight is because weight translates into traction obviously. The more weight on each inch of rubber the harder it is for it to break traction. I honestly think your Chevy could probably drag around your brothers wheeler, simply because you have narrower tires (more PSI on each tire) over his wider Swampers, plus I'm sure his K10 doesn't weigh 7K. Even with him being locked up I think you could still pull him, especially if you have an LS in the rear diff.

No it wouldn't because Evan would find something not exactly right with his truck and bow out of the pull and say he would do it in a few months after he has some time to work on it  rotfl J/K

Oh come on now..... It was his first time out with the truck in a while. I saw him do pretty good, and even ripped up his gas cap and door in squeeze rock. :doah:

i bet they are a LOT closer in weight than you think... the cummins is a HEAVY engine. the PSD isnt lgiht, but a lot lighter than a cummins.

the cabs on the ford are solid, but the frame on the dodge is also heavier. granted its shorter, but it also has twice as much metal per foot. my guess is they are within 350lbs of each other. in this video i say driver error and lack of traction put the ford out in the beginning on both.
