 That's um... interesting. It's nice in theory but I don't see it being practical at all. I would bet that it's braking would leave alot to be desired.

The article didn't list what weight rating it could tow. Seems like it would only work under the right circumstances. Two wheels would have to be able to roll under their own weight and the car's oposite side would have to be intact enough for the bike to get hooked up to it. I would think anyway.

And what if it was a 4wd Dodge Cummins? Would it be able to pull 7Klbs? I kind of doubt it.

It mentioned 5500 lbs and only at 20mph. Decent concept. If the breaking was done right you really wouldn't notice much at all.

And the other thing is, this could be used simply to clear out the highway for traffic purposes.

The thing doesn't need to haul a car for 300 miles, just get it off at the next exit or a park N ride, and the "real" wrecker can gather up the wrecks later.

I don't see why it couldn't be refined to deal with cars that are busted up in front (Gen II towbike?)

If you look at most wreckers and what they are towing, I would say that 80+ % of what they tow is the same thing: the rear wheels are rolling, and there is some assemblance of a front end still together or vice versa.

Very good idea actually, plus operating costs are less then a 2 ton wrecker

My boss was telling me about the time he towed his small boat a couple blocks down the road with his goldwing. lets just say he made it but not before going strait through a stop sign. Lets just hope they installed a good braking system on the bike and the towing unit.
