I heard you can order 4.10 gears on new diesel SRW SD's, but the Ford sites don't support this claim, any input? Also does anyone know which package gives you the highest front spring rating (snow plow/camper/or heavy duty).

All of the information I have, and have seen leads me to believe that 4.10s are not available with the diesel in an SRW pickup. 3.73s are your only choice. I wanted 3.73s when I ordered my pickup but they werent available with the V10, and you want to go the other way. I dont know why Ford doesnt offer all gear sets with all drivetrain configs.

As to the suspension package, I believe the snow plow package will give you the highest front GAWR. That would be 6,000 lbs GAWR for the front with a diesel.

Usually, 4.10 and 4.30 are too low for a diesel since they don't rev much over 3k. I'd think this would put you into OD very quickly at a low speed. If you was on the highway, there wouldn't be much of a passing gear since your RPMs would be high. I run 2500 RPM at 80mph with 4.10 in my truck. My V10 revs to 5200 so it can rev and take advantage of the extra gears.

The only way to get a 4.10 is with a F350 dually. You can get a 4.30 in the F350 Tow Boss package.
