One night we were leaveing one of the local dirt tracks and waiting in line to leave one of those internatinal CXTs passed us in the parking lot. I was ridding in my freinds mustang and we were pretty much looking at the rocker pannels as it went by. I had seen many pictures of them but you just don't understand the size of these things until you see one in person. This one was a demo from the local internatinal dealer. I wish I would have been in my dodge at least then I would have been half way up the door. rotfl

    Haha :D

The Kodiak quad cab ride sucks bad enough. I can't even contemplate how bad a two door would be. And yes they're very heavy, which means the DMax will not perform in this application like it does in the 1 tons. You'll need to bump the power quite a bit.

    cummin stoke this duramax

what do you know about ride you drive a dodge what do you know about power the PRECUMMINGS blows yea lets put a good semi motor scale it down make it cheaper and you have the PRECUMMINGS there is a reason why that dodge runs at least $5,000 less than GM and even FORD there is a reason that dodge has the lowest resale value of any othere car bottom line dodge blows my kodiak could rip your PRECUMMINGS in half any day of the week you want to race them i would be more than happy put 15,000 behinde them both and you will see the power of the DMAXX
DODGE IS THE POOR MANS GM SAVE UP SOME MONEY AND BY A REAL TRUCK BEFORE YOU RUN YOUR MOUTH YOU HAVE PROBALY NEVER BEEN IN A KODIAK WITH THE MONROE CONVERSION "they do ride hard but it is 73 pounds less than semi"

Because I've ridden in one. I'll take the Dodge 5500 and outrun you, outtow you, ride better than you and get better fuel mileage than you.

news flash i dodge 5500 will not be able to out tow me my girl friends dad runs a dodge dealership i have talked to him about the 4500 and 5500 he says they both are gonna suck the my kodiak has pulled over 26,000 across ohio and into the UP of michigan got around 9.8mpg the hole trip lets see the PRECUMMINGS even try that and out run me i am glad i got a tow rig for towing not racing why dont you go buy a neon because if you buy your towrig for speed and racing what business do you have even having a tow rig

DUDE JUST FACE IT DODGE IS A 3RD CLASS COMPANY YOU ARE TAKING A BAD TRUCK AND THROWING IT UP TO ONE OF THE MEANEST RIG OUT THERE JUST FACE IT DODGE ARE CHEAP FOR A REASON SO DONT RUN YOUR MOUTH ON THAT FACT

    ouch!!

I think its getting a little warm in this thread. So i feel the need to step in a bit and give my 2 cents. While im a GM guy through and through, i dont feel they are THAT superior to the other brands. lets remind ourselves how vulnerable all of our towrigs are. 1. Duramax injector issues. 2. Powerstroke head bolt issues. 3. Dodge automatic transmissions. now correct me if im wrong, but these were all MAJOR malfunctions with each respective generation. So nobody makes a perfect pickup.

Lets talk fuel mileage. This one IS a bit one sided. After reading through the mileage posts on here its pretty obvious the duramax wins hands down, with cummins a close second, and ford back there somewhere. Remember we are speaking in general terms.

Power is next. OMG there are entirely too many factors involved to leave it a brand related issue. It depends if its stock or modified. Depends on the transmission(autos tend to be a bit quicker). Depends a whole lot on the rear axle ratio. Plus alot of other factors. But whose damn name is printed on the engine doesnt mean jack.

HMM.... Inline 6 vs V8.......lets hear it

    true

there are many factors but bottom line the duramax has proven its self time and time to be the best not in just one area but over all power, towing, mpg all motors have there down falls like you stated but are debate was over the kodiak ride and the power of the duramax
