I just pickup an 01 Duramax with 50k on it and I am thinkin about adding a Hypertech 3. they say you can tow in any setting, even 12000 lb at the highest hp settings. They also say egt is about 1360!! Is this too high? Anyone have info on this?
Other than I would not recommend the Hypertech, 1360 is fine. I would invest in an EGT and boost gauge to be sure though. Better yet, get an Edge Juice with attitude and have both. John
I would have to agree with Jimmy. I had the hypertech on my 98 chevy and it didn't make a huge change. I added the edge with attitude monitor to my 03 duramax and it is a kick in the pants. My dad has the bully dog with the outlook monitor for his 05 dodge with manual trans, its not bad. I like the cleaner lines of the edge or even the banks six gun with the pda. MONITORS or GUAGES are a must.
I just purchased a 03 2500 crew, and it came with a brand new Hypertech 3. Its the latest version. It provides 30-60-90 hp gains. I'm trying to raise some cash to by my BD exhaust break. I had a BD on my past Cummins. I would prefer braking more than the power at this time. I gotta have a major install of all the stereo stuff first. Anyway it yours just make me an offer that's fair.
