Here ya go, 07 4X4 with a Top Gun Customs ($87 ebay) 2" spacer lift. Stock shocks, lift was VERY easy to install. Took about 2 hrs to put in by myself and didn't need a spring compresser. Used H2 wheels, tires are 37X12.50X17 MTR's. Trimmed the air dam back a bit and flattened out the lower fender lip where it meets the inner fender and bulges into the opening and voila no rubbing (on the street anyway) Likes, looks, gearing (2K at 80 mph/ 6 speed) Dislikes, gearing (not good for pulling, nice running empty though) Prob gonna put the stockers back on and upgrade to some 305 or 315 AT's. Try to find a happy medium between pulling and cruising. Still can't believe the power with the stock cummins though!!
I love the gearing (1800rpm at 80 mph instead of 2300 rpm at 70 mph) but it pretty much KILLS your towing ability. I'm going back to the stock wheels and going up to a 33" tire. Maybe I'll be able to find a happy medium.
so the rear tires didnt rub the fenders at all? im thinking of running 37s on my hummer wheels but id need alittle lift in the rear and maybe another inch in the front...
The rear was no probs, the front I just trimmed the plastic airdam back a little on the lower edge. I had to stick a 2x4 between the tire and the lower fender behind the tire and flatten out a sheet metal lip that stuck out where the plastic met the steel.
6 speed manual or auto? if its a hand shaker just shift it... i was running 315's on stock rims and my 265-70-19.5's were 35'' tall as well... hit a hill shift a gear. i have 4.10's so if you have an G56 then we have about the same ratios. just shift. shouldnt be any problems at all with gearing...
The truck's a stick. It has PLENTY of power, I still didn't use granny low to start off. It loves the cruising rpm but they make the truck so tall you can forget using a gooseneck and I have a B&W flip hitch in the bed. If your truck is a pretty truck that doesn't pull very often then it's a good swap. Just wasn't my cup o T
