Man, what a difference from stock (94 manual)! Took it for a test run with the goose loaded (11K lbs) up some serious grades. Had to back off the skinny pedal a few times due to EGT getting close to 1350. Ran 65-70 up the hills (5-6% and 2-5 miles long) I was only able to get to 50 before. Max boost was 32 psi, previously 24 psi (5000ft elevation here). 12V's rock, 300 bucks for an extra 80 horse and 200 ft-lbs ain't to bad a deal huh
This the same guy who was gonna keep his sheet metal and not go buggy? And yeah, you know you will. Power is adictive, just like coke or any other drug. You start off small. You like it for a while. But then, over time, it takes more and more to give you that same feeling. Next thing you know your dusting off Ricers, Mustangs and Vetes... without even realizing they were trying to race you... rotfl
Roll the timing forward a few degrees and you will see a drop in EGTs and some increased mileage. It'll help with the mods you already have, and pave the way for more
That's next on my list. I've been looking around for someone local to me that has the snap-on tools I could borrow.
Time for 370's, 181dv's and a HTT 35/40 upgrade on the turbo to show the D-Max some tail lights . BTW where are you located?
FRED!!! when did you get a dodge? what happened to the yellow dually? Nice seeing ya round here. welcome to the cummins club Grant
Where did you put the 10 plate? (stock forward or back from original location ) Is your clutch stock and how is it holding. I put a 10 plate in my 96 and slid it back alittle from stock. My clutch slipped alittle when I first installed the plate but is holding good for now.
Nothing better than pulling the Cummins out of the non worthy dodge to justify its existance in a GM or a late Ford .
It is a mid-80's Chevy crewcab 4x4 dually. The truck is an awesome truck but it only has a 6.2L with turbo and it is a dog when you are trying to tow heavy. So I believe Fred bought the Dodge to put the Cummins in the yellow truck to make it pull better. Harley
Might be off subject but new to site any help?? Thnx I have a 98 12v and the clutch fork or throw out bearing went out and clutch won't disengage. Truck has 270k I bought with 220k, clutch slips a little if you floor it or with 10k lbs plus trailer once again only if you really get on it other wise no issue. My question is would it be worth my time to just upgrade the clutch flywheel throw out slave cylinder etc all at once when I already have tranny pulled to do other work? If so what's the recommendation as far as bang for your buck and durability? I would like to eventually put 4k springs, injectors and lines so I want a something that can hold that much power yet reliable to tow 10klbs 2k miles at a time Any advise or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated Ps shaved or aftermarket fuel plate (was in truck when I bought) previous owner said he put bigger injector nozzles but stock line, front yard adjustment on smoke screw and plate housing and plate position. Has waste gate clamped off
