During recent 6000 mile trip from NC to Cheyenne to Gallup and home I picked up load of CO. red rock and hauled home. Weighed RV and stone in Booneville, MO. The entire load was 26,440#s.:-laf The 19.5s and this goat did a great job accending Monarch Pass. Truck photos show how 07.5 goat hauls the load. Total trip I averaged 9.5mpg. Exhaust brake did a marvelous job.

great post...thats amazing! We travel alot in the North Cascades/BC/OR/ID, and is hard to explain to some folks what hauling a load up a pass is really all about. Glad to hear the 6.7 is a bulletproof copy of the 5.9.

Before our next long trip we plan to add an idiot rack and wing. My wife's words.

We went the first 3 weeks in June.

    MPG

This this the strange part... With the MP8, the K&N air filter, the modded cold air intake and MBRP exhaust and addition of 245x19.5s I am still averaging about 9.5mpg. It does have more power, runs cooler at high rpms pulling. I am sure my EGTs are lower. To have the total power that I have and getting 9.5 might not be so bad.waytogo

The muffler delete is the first thing I did when I got home with the truck. That for the most part did not anything. The factory muffler is just a resonator and straight thru.

Monarch pass was a rough pull for my setup, all together loaded the weight is 23,700#..my max speed was 25-30 mph and my EGT was 1300* to 1450*,going up I reset my edge/attitue from off to level 2 trying to keep my speed and lower my EGT's..I thought my 05 dodge CTD w/4:10 gears should pull it with no trouble at all,I did make it to the top, just not the way it did....do I need a better(bigger) turbo,meth/water injection setup, or is this normal?
