I had a fuel pressure regulator go out on me and it messed up five lifters and the lobes on the cam. I was wondering what cam you all would suggest to get for this motor. The engine only has 100,00 miles on it. It has a Banks Powerpack exhaust system, full MSD ignition and coil, 3.73 gears, 4x4, 3/4ton.. I was thinking about going with the new 454HO cam but I dont know how it would respond to fuel injection. The computer has been tuned once and can be sent back in for adjustment if the cam lift or duratiuon are extremely larger. Thanks
why do you think a fuel press reg spanked them? bbc have a bad rap for eating cams to begin with. i like comp cams with federal mougle lifters. a few of my friends and i have had bad luck with comp lifters with there cams. but no problems with comp cams and federal mougle lifters. thay offer some good efi cams.
because it caused the oil to thin out and dilute which in turn led to non oiling on some lifters. i replaced three of them so far but i am just going to swap cams and lifters all together now. i dont want to have to keep doing this over and over.
