Does anybody know (or is anybody a member of TDR that can search) and tell me if the 01-02 Cummins HO 245hp/505tq engines w/ the NV5600 were casted in the infamous #53 block? I know the 53's were less common by 01 & 02 but I'm curious if HO's were excluded from the 53's use.

Thanks for any and all info.

I have read about this problem a lot over at TDR and I am pretty sure they quit using that block in mid 2001. If you have a late '01 to 02 you SHOULD be ok. It is easy to check, just lok on the friver side on the side of the block behind the IP. If it's a 53 block you'll find "53" stamped there. I could not find that stamp on my late 'o1, thank goodness.
