Hi and welcome, You will be fine with what you are running. there are many that are pushing thier rigs, '03, much harder than that. Just try to stay away from 400hp. Our trucks have powdered metal rods that dont like that much hp. Anything over 400 rear wheel horse power and your asking for troublewaytogo

Get some gauges! Some of the hotter chips and programmers will push your EGTs up pretty high rather quickly. You don't want your EGT to get over 1250* for too long, otherwise you could melt your turbo. It's better to be on the safe side. OH, and watch out for turbo surge. That can wear out a turbo pretty quick.

    engine cuts out

I put the banks tuner on about 6 months ago. This last month its been cutting out. I took it to the dealership, they replaced 2 injectors, regulator, and other thing that controls the injectors. It's still doing it. Called the dealership and the blamed it on the tuner. told me to put it back to stock setting and see if it helped. It seems to do it more often at stock setting. Any one have any ideas what the problem could be?

Do you mean turbo flutter? Or surge. Or stall. They're all the same. when you hear a fluttering noise coming from the engine area between 2000-2300 rpm under a load that is surge/stall/flutter. I can't recall exactly what happens to the turbo, but I know it's hard on parts and accelerates wear.

The common fixes for it on a stock turbo are the Wicked Wheel or alike which works for some and the ATS ported housing which is said to fix it 99% of the time. The later is what I am going with. I have turbo surge and though I am not 100% sure that it was the main factor in ending its life at 85k I am going to fix it while I have it out of the truck.

You could also change the turbine housing to a 1.0 A/R. That should help lower EGT a bit and prevent surge. I've heard that the wicked wheel doesn't do much. But I don't have any experience with that.
