I have two almost-new trailer tires in size 8-14.5. They are NOT the notorious mobile home tires, but marked Trailer and Low Boy.

I'm wondering about the "14.5" bead diameter. On my 295/75R22.5 big-rig tires, I believe I know that the ".5" is code for tubeless. The actual bead diameter is the same even 22 inches as in the days of inner tubes. Correct?

So.... Does the "14.5" mean the same thing? Does the ".5" just mean tubeless? (They also have the word tubeless on them.) Would those tires fit a 14" car rim? (Don't worry about the strength of the car rim -- I'm building a parade float.)

    Appreciate the help!

14.5 is the size of the tire hole.
If you try to put it on 14" rim, you are going to have a gap.
In case you'd like to sell those tires, I am on the market. What brand are they and what is the weigh rating?

    Thanks for the information!

Sorry, not selling them -- I want to use them on the heavy end of the parade float. I'll just have to cut clearance in the float "body" for the different offset of the rims. I was trying to keep the wheels hidden, but I can live with it.
