Hi, I have a 1993 chevy ext. 2wd, long box with a 305 and a 4L60E tranny. I want to switch to a NV4500 or a SM465 but it's a daily driver so when the tranny went all I could find in time to keep it running for work was a 700R4. The truck runs with this tranny but not well and alot of codes come up cause of the missing tranny sensors and the different style of VSS sensor and the speedo does not work. I want to put in a maual tranny but I need to find a way to bypass the 4L60E senors and VSS problems. Does the NV4500 have the same 40tooth VSS sensor as the 4L60E tranny does, That would fix about 1/2 my problems. Does the 1993 manual NV4500 tranny ECM have the same plug as the Automatic 4L60E tranny ECM does so I can just unplug my auto ECM and plug in a manual ECM or can I just pull the chip out of my Auto ECM and put one in from a Manual ECM? Or do I need to swap out the entire engine wiring harness when doing a auto to manual swap. thanks, Tracker.
