Uh, there should be a mechanical port coming off the injection pump that spins a tach cable for your tach. I don't really know of a diesel tach, which would be nice with a lower redline, but most guys just go ahead and use an 8K Autometer or what not.

Isspro makes one for you , and the connections for it are under your dash. I just have to remeber which pins. . . . .

I had a 93, selling it was the single worst thing I ever did. Great truck, great buy. Good luck with yours, if it shows up missing, don't check my yard!rotfl

So you are saying that the tach is an electric tach on 1st gens? I know they are electric on later models but figured 1st gens were still mechanical cables.

You might check with a dodge dealer, as they used to sell a tack that fit onthe dash by the left piller. I don't know how the hook up is as the 93 that i bought in 95 already had it installed! My 93 was a ext cab DRW with a 5speed and 3:53 rears. It got 20mpg for years. Then i switched over to syn. oil and it went to 22mpg. After a valve adjustment and more fuel through the pump and bumping the timeing, it went to 25mpg at 55 on 2 lanes. I sure do miss ole blue!!! These mpg figures were running empty and doing the math after a 100 plus fill up. I know a fellow here in centrel florida that can relly make a old 1st gen blow a lot of black smoke and still get some great mpg.
