95 Psd???

    a friend is looking at buying a 95 powertroke crew cab 4x4 manual tranny. Is there anything to look at that are known issues? Thanks

    Just check for blowby and see if there is any smoke on cold or hot start up. Take the air filter off and look in the intake tube, if there considerable or for that matter any dust in there, stay away from it.

    make shure the airbox is not cracked.
    take off the inlet tube to the turbo(you need regular screwdriver, 10mm socket, ratchet, and a 9/16 socket to do this)
    look for cracked or "dusted" fins. if the fins dusted, the motor's dusted.........
    see what kind of clutch it has in it.
    sotck one has a dual mass flywheel that go bad all the time, and cause lots of vibrations.... pretty $$ to replace. new flywheels like $500, or a new solid flywheel with clutch kits $700 make shuire the trans holds every gear....
    if you can, bring a scanner and do a cylinder contribution test, and scan the codes in it.
    disregard any exhuast backpressure sensor codes, and a cam sensor code. they ALL have those in them, trust me....
