My friend has a 96 2wd 2500 ext.cab long box w/350 Vortec 5 spd auto and trying to find the tow numbers as he's looking at getting a 34' fifth wheel that weighs aprox. 10400lbs dry and not sure if he'll be able to tow it comfortably. Specifically looking for the GCWR and max tow capacity.
Does he have to pull through the mountains at all? The reason I ask is, I used to have a 98 3/4 ton Suburban with the 454 and it struggled to tow 7000 pounds up the Colorado mountains, it did "ok" on the flats. Towing almost 11,000 pounds with a 350 doesn't sound to fun.
