my buddy has a 99 six speed stroker 4x4 single cab dually with a flat bed and it only has 35000 miles on it because it was his granddads, any way his budget is kind of tight and he was wondering what kind of chip would be the best for pulling and so street racing. he knows the stock air box doesnt seal that good and was wondering if there was a cheap way to fix that. i was thinking he could do something like a BHAF but that might only be for a cummins, i dont know much bout the fords so ANY feed back would be greatwaytogo opcorn:
yeahhhhhhhhh another 99 guy... t ts six postion chip works wonders for 450 its a steal.. 170hp on mine.. if you contactPatrick Cathan At 1440-897-6767 hes is a diesel peformance shop owner.. he has a great air intake system for a low price like a cummins semi air filter he is also a dealer for ts so he would do the chip also go with some free flowing exhaust Pat also is a dealer for grand rock stacks which are great looking and sound peferct if your into stacks larger injector tips would boost your ponnies a ats turbo bolt on system would work good.. and bts makes some of the best aftermarket trannies so the posibilties are endless give him a buzz and say Zach recomended you
he is kind of new to the performance diesel idea and i dont think that he could keep his clutch in with that kind of power. he is kind of hard on stuff so i was thinking i would look out for him. he doesnt have guages and it would be a while if he ever gets them i was thinking something around 100hp so he can still run good and be half way safeor if yall have an other ideas lets hear them
On the intake DOnaldson makes a great upgraded intake air box and filter assy. Filters great, flows good for an enclosed box, and should suite him well. In dusty areas its the only way to go. As for a chip, TS, SCT, Superchips, Edge, Bully Dog. Gott know what he is wiilling to spend, and cheapest isn't always best. However, just becasue its spendy don't make it great, either. Exhaust, I like MBRP myself, or stacks. MBRP will be less money. Before any extra fueling is added, he NEEDS to be able to monitor te motor. Either analog or digital gauges are a must. Options are Autometer, Isspro, and Danin for analog. Digital options are the Edge Attitude, A2, Bully Dog Outlook, Hypertech HYperpac, and Quadzilla commander. Most are part of a package with a chip. The Commander is a stand alone kit and woks with most chips. There are many options out there. Yeah, with anything over about 100hp he'll expect to do a clutch. South Bend Clutch is my #1 and #2 recomendations. Only way to go. Good price, excellent product and I challenge anyone to find a company with better customer service. Feel free to PM me if I can help you! Jason
