I just bought a used F250 PSD. I like the truck quite a bit. I come from a GM and Jeep background so maybe what I'm about to explain is a 'Fordism' or similar? I live in Utah and it's starting to get a little chilly here (I think it was 25 last night). Anyway, I had a pretty good load of frost on my windshield this morning.

I started my truck and let it warm up a little (3-4 minutes). The engine temp was just starting to come up and I was getting a little heat out of the heater. However, my power locks wouldn't work to open the door (had someone steal my truck a while ago--and it'd be that much easier if I let it idle in the driveway without it being locked), the turn signals didn't work (Hazard lights did, though) and a couple other 'funny' electrical issues.

After driving for about 5 miles or so, I suddenly had turn signals and everything was back to normal. I have two new batteries and clean terminals.

Question: Is there a 'master' ground or something that I could look at that might control some of the interior electrical systems that I could check out?

Just an update this morning: Everything seems fine this morning. It was a little warmer low temp, but not much.

Looking in the FAQ to find out how to check those.

There are reports of this happening to other SD owners. Look at the forums over at www.thedieselstop.com It has been posted fairly recently I believe, so some answers might be found over there.

does it make a buzzing noise when you hit the signals sometimes?
if so play with your hazard switch.
push it up and down rapidly while spraying brake clean down the hole it comes up through. the contacts get full of crap, and the factory grease on it grabs th edust that falls down it till it doesnt get contact. push it up and dwo nrapidly while sprayign the brake clean down it. then try and see if they work. 1/2 of ford turn signal problems are that.......
