Hey guys, well i was looking into removing my AC next weekend when i get my Heath Diesel manual boost controler :) along with the vac. pump ... well i got looking into it to see how long of a belt i will need and the water pump pully is in the way for the belt to go from the power steering pulley to the alternator ... is there any way that i can put anoter tensioner or a dead pulley in there so i dont have the resistance of the AC?

and another thing for those of you who are running a manual BC, do you just bypass the vac pump or completely remove it after removing your stock WG actuator? and if you remove it, how much of a pain is it to get it off? thanks for the help!

I dont know how long of a belt you will need but Im sure you could just run an Idler pully in its place. I doubt you will see any performance gains though.

well i was thinking about removing the AC, since it doesnt work, so i could add a front mount IC from a d/max, Pstroke, or cummins ... that way i wouldnt be paying 1300 for a Heath Diesel IC ... seems pricey when i could go to a junk yard and pick up one of the above for around $500 .. but if you guys dont think i will see any gains in HP out of removing the AC then i will just leave it in there, but will be cutting the lines and taking the condensor out

a/c pump only draws power when pumping . and thay offer a idler pully kit to pop in place of the pump. and if you remove the vac pump you might loose all vent controls as thay might run off vac still.

good eye! i didnt even think about that .. i will just have to wait and see if the directions say anything or call up Heath or Kennedy diesel and find out what they think .. i got looking at it yesterday and it looks like a pain in the butt to take off the vac. pump. so it might just stay on as a hastle and the AC might become my new pump for my air tank as the firestone is really noisey and takes to long to fill up my 2 gal. tank for my 140 db air horns! but back on track ... i was just looking for free/cheap mods to gain a couple extra hp but it sounds like i will be getting myself into more than what i barganed(sp?) for  if i wasnt driving this truck as a daily driver right now and going to be driving it alot when winter comes around, i would remove the AC/heat controls for guages but i need heat unless i could reroute them to the glove compartment??

did you ever find out about that vaccum pump? mine crapped out, so i bought the boost controller from kennedy, and i was afraid to take off the vaccum pump, but i checked out the hose, and it looks like it is still needed. if anyones knows, that would be great.
