Talk about easy.. my truck was an 06 quadcab ST version without cruise.. the one option I wanted.. this mod works on autos and sticks,, all the late models with a computer.. does not work on the earlier servo models

ok.. here goes.. so easy even a caveman can do it ( with a reprint from rankram,, thanks rank)

Here is a brief description of how to install cruise control for your Dodge Ram ST.

1: Purchase these switches at your friendly Dodge dealer.

    RIGHT HAND SWITCH #56049378AB-RETAIL $18.79
    LEFT HAND SWITCH #56049379AB-RETAIL $19.91

2: In order to remove the airbag from the steering wheel, you need to turn the steering wheel 90° from center. This will let you access the two bolts on the back of the steering wheel. (I used a deep socket 10mm 1/4" drive ratchet)

3: Once the steering wheel is placed at the 90° position, shutdown the engine and remove the two negative battery cables and wait a minimum of ten minutes for the airbag module to be drained of available power.

4: Now remove the airbag by removing the two bolts at rear of the steering wheel. Have someone hold the airbag while you remove the switch blanks, this permits you to leave the airbag wiring connected.

5: The switch blanks are removed with a Phillips screwdriver, when these are removed just install the new switches and put everything back together and enjoy your cruise control equipped Ram!

This procedure is confirmed to have worked with the following model year trucks.

04.5 manual trans, and an 06 auto equipped truck, I feel that the price of the switches are worth it just to see if it will work on your truck. I'm willing to bet that it does!

test unit.. even the cruise operation lights on the dash work

total cost.. about 30 bucks for both factory cruise switches

total cost as an ordered option.. about 250.00

DC uses the same harnesses apparently on all the trucks.. so much of the wiring is there.(other than specialized stuff like electric seats etc)
Next.. factory fog lights.. and yep.. the wiring is there.. I hope cab roof clearance light wiring is there.. but I doubt it,, cant ask for everything

my right foot is loving it!!!!

most dealers dont even know about this and say it cant be done
