advice on pyrometer installation

    Has anybody out there installed a EGT or pyrometer gauge on a 6.4 lit Ford yet ? Thanks and Merry Christmas .

    No i havn't done one yet, but like any other engine I have been around, I would go with the driver side ex-maqnifold. About right where the up pipe meets the manifold.

    yes you can tap the mann on the driver side but you have to run your hand over the top of it first to see the man. goes back at an angle so you have to drillat that angle so your probe will slide into the man. OR just buy a tuner. My edge tuner had all that built into it by just pluging it into the port under the dash. Another thing ford installed is alot of sensors all over the truck and there mon. through the computer.

    so the truck has a pyrometer installed stock that reads into the ecu?

    or did i misunderstand?

    Yes the are already built in for the comp to monitor.The first tuner I installed was the edge and it gave me the temps just by plugging it in.Know I did A dpf delete by spartan and they use a dash daq monitor that will monitor every sensor on the truck.
