Hello all, I'll make this quick. I have an 03' 3500 srw 4x4 with the stinkin 2" leveling spacers! First, has anyone purchased a track bar(if necessary) from Thuren Fabrication, or any where else, and if so any insight ? Second, what about the need for longer control arms?(I see that Top Gun Customz can make a set for any lift up to 5") Lastly, anyone have any numbers as far as toe-in and caster angles? Any help would be much appreciated!

When I had death wobble on my 3rd gen I just got sick of throwing parts at it and sold the dang thing haha.

So I got a KORE race steering stabilizer and that stopped it from wobbling on the freeway. Other then that, I think the problem is caused by the control arms being put out of alignment by the spacer as well as the track bar in the steering being at a steeper angle then stock. I guess you could try buying some drop brackets for the lower control arms and a drop pitman arm for the steering which should smooth things out quite a bit.

Stop throwing parts at it, our BD Steering Stabilizer Kits are a great fix for that notorious death wobble. We are back ordered for 3-4 weeks but do offer a kit.

Not to contradict, but I'm in the understanding that it is a geometry problem. I've done the steering box,tie rod ends, ball joints, unit bearings, etc...(120,000 miles on the ticker) all thats left is the control arms and track bar. I do have the RANCHO stabilizer on now. I don't think steering angles are the prob. I worry about my wife and kid in the truck till' I figure somthin' out!!!

I will be honest I am more of an engine guy than a suspension guy, I showed the engineer of this kit the post and he feels it may be the solution. It could be worth "throwing it at it" and I will stand behind our 30 day money back for you if it is not the fix, but first I am going to PM a contact person to you that works here, if you have time, call this gentleman and see if the two of you can decide if this kit is worth trying or not. Then let us know

    Good Luck waytogo

No worries! 78k, you are just about broken in!rotfl

Project X was a race truck built on a 2003 with 230k miles IIRC.

Alot of guys like to wait until the 100k Cummins warranty is up before playing. You will be fine!

AS for the death wobble, I have only experienced it once in my old 03, and that was because the track bar bolt SNAPPED and no more track bar. Some trucks have issues and some don't. My guess is first go through the whole front end and make sure there is no slop anywhere. Rod ends, ball joints, bushings, ect.

Alignment next, as for specific numbers, I don't know off hand.

Steve if the spacers are your concern than junk em and get a spring kit with a track bar spacer and end all your worries.
