Block heater ?

    How much power do they draw/increase power bill?

    i've got one on my 98' 12v and will have one on any other truck i buy. don't pull any power at all. well worth the time and money if you live in a cold climate.

    I believe its about 750-1000 watts. What we do is get a plug timer for 1500 watts from wal mart and set it so the heater comes on about 3 hours before we plan to start the truck. That way its no drawing power all night. Cost about $10.

    I have mine on a timer that comes on about 2 hours before I leave for work. I think it might add about $ 10-15 to bill but its hard to tell. I only plug in from about late October- late March, depending on the weather.

    I had mine plugged in for 2 weeks straight, and the bill was $90 extra bucks:eek: . It looks like the timer is the way to go.
