I have a 99 Dodge with the Cummings and I am having some severe stopping problems. I can apply the brakes and make a right hand turn!! I have replaced the shoes on the rear, new rotors and pads in the front. An oldtimer told me it was a rear brake issue, someone else said it was the front, ANYBODY have any ideas?? Thanks in advance for your help. Joe
could be front or rear..... out of adjustment rear shoe can cause a slight pullling... locked up caliper and or slides on the front can cause major pull...... your wheel bearings are good right?
BurnedBronco you were right on the money! Dodge in their infinte wisdom replaced the good ole wheel bearing with a nice and expensive unit bearing which was definetly bad. I could move the tire side to side 3/4" of an inch. I had recently had everything on the front end checked out by a repuable shop here in town and they never mentioned a problem with the bearings. I have done some research though and found out that they terd to go out suddenly. So after my new brakes were put on then the problem arose, oh well now its fixed and all back to normal. Thanks again for the help. Joe
