1996 powerstroke with 119,000. Truck has never used oil. Oil been changed every 5000 miles, only tows a 4000 lb. trailer. Changed the oil 4000 miles ago. Checked the oil level and it was 2 quarts low. No drips or visual leaks underneath. Have been using Delo 400 and motorcraft filters since new. Any ideas?

In my 97 I go 5000 miles per oil change. at about the time to change the oil it is 2 quarts low also but it never seems to get lower than two quarts. It seems like it is a ford thing. I have two 76 gas rigs they will never hold the last 2 quarts.

According to Ford, it is acceptable to burn up to 1qt of oil every 1,000 miles.
