Dodgers let me see if I have this right. If I buy 2001.5 diesel 2500 24v with 33,000 miles in order to play it safe, I should take the following steps: - FASS fuel pump - juice/attitude (b/c it comes with a fuel pressure gauge, seems like fuel pressure gauges are just a little less than the edge system) - install a BHAF - install exhaust - keep juice/attitude off of level 3-5 in order to save life of transmission Are these the steps I should follow to promote longevity of the truck?
With 33K miles on the truck. Step one, get a VB/TQ for the trans if its an automatic. You won't believe how much better the truck will run. waytogo Step two exhaust & BHAF. Step Three FASS and Edge. Then try to keep tires on the truck.
You don't *need* a FASS system. The stock lift pump should be able to supply enough fuel for a stock truck with the addition of just the Juice. What is most important is having the fuel pressure guage, that will tell you what you do and don't need. I would also reccommend a valve body at least, and likely a new converter also, as it will make the trans actually handle the power and last longer.
To play it "safe" if you just need to open the exhust and a freeflow intake like the BHAF. The fuel press.guage is a must if you dont do anything else you have to do this. I got 200K+ out of the stock tranny, and vp44 with no problems with only these mods.
