I need to replace the cam sensor on my truck. Is it easy to do or would i be better off taking it to the dealer. Don't know much about diesel mechanics but it looks easy to change. any input would be appreciated.

    easy.
2 wire plug above the top left of the crank pulley. one 10m bolt holds it in. a small prybar and screwdriver usually required to pop it out then.

if you can try to warm up the engine first, it helps to get it out
some times the o-ring makes it stick in place.
one more thing i herd that some one on ebay is selling the 97 to 03 sensor for about $60.00 waytogo

If you get in a bind sometime, and need a CPS real quick, just go to an International dealership, they have the same thing at a much lower cost than any Ford dealer.

I did mine in about 20 minutes after making a similar post.
Probobly took me longer to type it up than it did to change.
