Ralph Kalal is a member of the RockAuto.com staff and the author of Car Care for Car Guys: Tips & Techniques Beyond Auto Maintenance 101. Ralph’s book explains the purpose of parts, how they work, and gives tips on how to choose the most appropriate replacement parts. For example, what are the real differences between semi-metallic and ceramic brake pads? Read the "Choosing the Right Brake Pads" section.
After wading through factory repair manuals, Car Care for Car Guys is like a breath of fresh air. It describes real-world conditions under the hood with clear text and clear photographs and outlines doing repairs and maintenance with readily available tools.
We are certainly proud of Ralph’s accomplishment. But independent of who the author is, we like this book so much, that every new RockAuto Customer Service person gets his or her own copy of the book no matter how much previous experience they have. RockAuto has also purchased a stack of the books from the publisher to make available to customers at the discounted prices outlined below. The suggested retail price for the book is $24.95. We even got Ralph a new Sharpie pen to sign the books!
