I'm trying to find a good CB shop in the Sumter or Columbia, SC area. Can anyone help?

I pulled my radio out of the old truck and need it installed PROPERLY and antennas PROPERLY tuned for my new truck. I don't have time to tune it myself--especially if there's a problem requiring someone with more experience to assist (i.e., cable problems, antenna problems, etc.) Need to have someone knowledgeable do the job so I can learn.

A couple local truck stops I tried--near Columbia--don't have a radio shop on site.

    Thanks,

    Mike

If you have a decent CB, then get the antenna's with an adjusting sleeve on the top of them. An SWR Meter can be had for $20-$30 at Radio Shack. When I did mine for the first time it only took about 30 minutes or so after I had everything mounted and hooked up. Now I can adjust my SWR in a lot less time.

Thanks, Rick. The CB is very good... I have Firestik antennas. Not sure if they're tunable. The end caps are removable, but I dunno what's below that.

    Possibly nothing. ??

The antenna's I ran had a sleeve at the top that just slid up and down to tune them. The ones I have now I was told to trim the wire under the end caps to tune them. When I installed them the SWR checked out just fine so I didn't have to mess with it.

I think my old ones were fire sticks. I had to get new ones last year because mine broke on the trail 4 wheeling in my K5.
