I am 16, and can not afford another truck to tow with, so i will be using my k10 stepside. First of all, i want to tow around an equipment trailer, probaly with small cars on it, can i do this. The truck has a rebuilt 350, and a 6" lift. I know the lift is bad for towing, but its all i got. also, i will be towing with 4.10s and 29" all terrains, i have an add a leaf in the rear, and the transmission is a 700r4. I also want to tow a few yards of loam, and some other landscaping supplies. What are some upgrades that i can do to make this truck better for towing?

upgrade the axles three quarter ton and one ton axle bolts right in,upgrade the brakes and install a heavy duty tranny cooler with a brake controller. To start out I would get a tranny cooler and a brake controler and go from there.

dont under any instance tow anything heavier than a yugo without beefing up that th700r4 internally. things that break real easy are the pump vanes, input shaft, band, 3/4 clutchpack, direct drum and many other items. I have gone through 5 of these transmissions, my upgrade will be to the 4L80 when I switch to a big block, and all ive towed is a 1981 pontiac grand prix dirt track car:poke:
