Any Comments on the Predator Performance Module Stage I for the 2004.5 5.9 Cummings? I think it puts out an additional 70HP and 110FPT.
Well, not with the Cummins but I did help install one on a Ford 6.0. It really helped wake it up. BTW, there is no "G" in Cummins.
Just wandering as I have one and was told that it created excesive rail pressure. They claim that it won't raise EGT's but it does. Thanks
agreed, however edge sure does give it a try when comparing them to some of the crap I have installed (won't name names)
In the Duramax camp, Edge is (IMO) by far the best when it comes to things like EGT control and torque management. They do all sorts of things like letting you control "low boost fueling", max EGT allowed (and for how long) before defueling, defueling locked (or all) shifts, monitoring for signs of slipage, etc. Not sure how much of that applies to the Cummins camp, but tossed out FYI.
Oh yeah I know, did a LB7 and an LLY today, we can't keep them in stock! I also like the six gun/speedloader for flat out power on the Dmax
Hmm, all out power, I would have to give the nod to TST or the VA200 I think. At least they were tops with the dyno queens and 1/4 mile junkies last I checked. But you need a beefed Alli and you still can't really use them for towing due to EGT and driveability issues. Things like a throttle so twitchy you can't easily "creep" forward except at idle make for a less than ideal daily driver. BTW, in an effort to keep it somewhat on topic (other than the general admonition to keep "drivability" issues in mind when selecting), IIRC, the TST is also known among the 600 crowd for all out perf with a chip...
WHere's the "go back to your own forum" smiley when you need it....you have entered a no V8 diesel zone....please return to your home forums.....
Yeah, the specific points, being GM are OT, but I believe the info is quite relevant to the 600 as well, or at least worth investigating. If I had not felt that way, I would have stayed out of it.
well many may flame me for this comment but I think the TST is a joke. When I am state this I am talking cummins. First of the max they have seen is 190hp correct? You can't tow with it, you can't run it wide open with a single turbo, direct quote from Pier's. I can't sale the thing, I have sold two of them, one 555 and one 610. The 555 on 5-5 (I believe) was hitting 1700* and finally ate the turbo and destroyed the head. The 610 pulled the damn thing off because he complained that the power band sucked, was to short. I tried it on my 600 for a minute and couldn't manage my heat with a B2. Now bully dog has the crazy lary and Edge has the drag juice. Bully Dog advertises 200hp but says they have see 230hp with a manual. Edge says they have never had any other box that put out more power and claim they have tried everyone else. We are running a crazy lary on our 05 and tow 18,000 with stock turbo, aero muffler, afe intake, and have not had any heating issues. I have a drag juice on order for the 600 so have nothing to report there. Flame away TST fans
Wow, thanks for the real world info on the TST. I have no experience with it, I've just seen people talking about it being the box with the most "head room" for ultimate power so that you will never out grow it. IIRC, that statement has been made for both the 600 and the DMax. But I do seem to recall seeing some reports of driveability problems for those who do more than race their truck. Maybe I just "drank the cool-aid" on that one. It's been a long time since I really paid much attention to what the dyno junkies were doing, and it seems old age is taking a toll on my memory...
Then address the 600 Cummins only, there is no reason to bring up the V8 diesels in this forum. opcorn:
