Ok guys - looking for a little input here. Going to be doing some power changes soon and it's time to do the clutch. I'm looking at the southbend con fe clutch. I also see that Luk has something comparable. Does anyone have any input regarding these clutches, or maybe even a different brand?

Also - I have the 5 spd. I was wondering if there are any common upgrades to do to these to prepare them for greater power input? Any thoughts on switching to a 6 spd?

    Thanks

    Eric

Your 5spd Nv4500 is plenty stout, I wouldn't worry about it.

I would go with Southbend, we've got a Con OFE in our 6spd truck and really like it. The FE is slightly grabbier than the OFE, which makes backing to a trailer trickier.

Keep theNV4500 and go with the south bend. Another truck I had, tore up several LUK clutches. The guy who bought my old truck is still running the south bend I put in last!

I agree the transmission is good, use the right Southbend Clutch and your good to go. Do not over clutch it!
