I need a crash coarse in what to look for when buying a Common Rail truck. My good buddy is looking at a 2005 CTD and I need a crash coarse on what to know and what the bad things are to look for on these trucks. Here is the stats. 2005 Dodge 2500 Dual Cab, longbed, 4x4, 6 spd, CTD, w/23K on it. The price is $31000 window and there is no signs of heavy towing or abuse. It has no gooseneck or 5th in the bed and the truck is in really good shape. The factory warranty of 7/70 and 100K on the CTD transfer. The truck looks all stock. I need info ASAP. Thanks Harley
cycle the key three times to see if any codes are still in the computer. drive it around and let it warm up, once warm HAMEER THE PISS OUTTA IT! see if it can take what yo give it. should be able to take anything you can dish out and then more.
I agree with the above, and would try and jew them down a bit. I think thats a little spendy since I spent 39 for my brand new 06 loaded. I would be looking to be in the 28K range on a truck like that.
agreed with everything above... take that thing for a good test drive: drive it hard so you will notice if anything feels abnormal and yes, most definitley talk them down at least 3k
