at a glance; i thought my valve cover had a slow leak that developed since my last oil change. i got a new gasket kitand was getting ready to install it.when i pulled the cover off the top of the valve cover, i discovered a crank breather that i didnt know was there. its made by fleetguard and is called enviroguard. it has an assembly number 3957987 on it. it bolts to the valve cover and uses an o-ring to seal it to the valve cover. that is where its leaking. has anyone had this problem before? i hope the breather isnt trashed and causeing an issue; it lists for$91.00 at the dealer. can it be cleaned when i pull it to replace the o-ring or just replace the o-ring and keep on truckin ? i hosed everything down with brake clean and the short pieces of rubber hose coming off the breather are ok, they arent leaking. its definitely the o-ring on the bottom of this breather. truck has 114k on it.

Never had that problem, couldn't you remove the o-ring and try to match it up at a parts store?

If you have to buy the part check with Cummins first. Should a lot cheaper.
